Tui’s bio

We are all leaders in our own lives, but too often we lead as we think we ‘should’. Therapy-informed coach, author and speaker Tui Fleming inspires established and emerging leaders to let go of those ‘shoulds’ and dare to lead with grounded authority.

This means knowing your values and strengths, favouring adaptability over stoic resilience, remembering your voice and reclaiming your agency. It’s deep work at the level of your beliefs and it has the byproduct of improving mental health and emotional agility. Tui only works with leaders who are committed to the process, coaching them in her proprietary practices in Stability Before Agility®. The result is highly engaged teams and cultures that inspire peak performance without compromising true wellbeing.

Tui’s work is grounded in science, with a heart-centred approach. She’s a certified Gallup Strengths Leadership coach; one of Danielle LaPorte’s Heart Centered Leadership global facilitators; trained in both Dr Brene Brown’s Daring Leadership and the Emotional Culture Deck; a yoga and meditation instructor; and, with her interest in helping people re-author the stories of their lives and leadership, Tui has trained the psychological science and art of Narrative Therapy and in Traumatic Stress Studies. She is NZ’s only certified Gallup Strengths Leadership coach with these other qualifications – a unique combination that makes her client successes transformational. Her coaching is deep, sometimes confronting, always compassionate. She specialises in immersive experiences that evoke a mind-body shift and deliver immediate practical value.

A former marketer for some of New Zealand’s biggest brands, she’s acted as a leadership and wellbeing consultant for global and national brands like LEGO, CBRE and Kiwibank; for SMEs, schools, and individuals alike. Her talks have reached thousands of people globally, with this one being a favourite on the Unmistakable Creative, and her motherhood is never far from her work, as in her co-hosting of Stuff Media’s Double Strength Mama Power’ podcast with Suzy Cato.

Tui knows the language and culture of corporate, and the minds and hearts of humans.

Her work is about diversity and inclusion, significance and belonging. It is about creating a place where people feel accepted for who they are, where they are empowered to embrace their leadership AND their wellbeing. On the outside, that place might be a business, a school, or in the quiet solitude of your home, but at its core, it’s in your heart.
